Independent financial advice for female expats

Living in Germany, earning well. Still unsure how to organise your finances & build wealth for your future?

You have savings, and maybe you've already started investing. But you don't feel like you have a plan for your retirement and are wondering whether you need a German pension plan or something else.

  • “I earn well, but I have no idea how much I'll really need later.”
  • “I've been recommended a German pension product – but how do I know whether it actually makes sense for me?”
  • “I don't know whether I'll stay in Germany forever. How should that affect the decisions I make today?”
  • “I don't want to become a financial expert. I want someone independent to look at the whole picture.”

If some of these questions sound familiar, you're not alone. This is exactly where financial planning starts.

Your financial plan

Good financial planning doesn't start with an insurance product or ETF.

It starts with you.

Your income. Your assets. Your goals. Your retirement. Your plans for the future.

We look at the whole picture and develop a financial strategy that helps you understand: where you are today, where you want to go – and what needs to happen in between.

01 · Plan

Your personal financial strategy

We bring your income, assets, savings, existing investments and long-term goals together into one coherent financial plan.

02 · Invest

Start investing & building wealth

We help you determine how much cash you need, how much you can invest and which investment strategy fits your goals, time horizon and risk profile.

03 · Pension planning

Understand Germany's pension system

We analyse your retirement situation, identify your pension gap and develop a strategy to save up enough money for your retirement.

For international & expat women

Because women's financial lives aren't always straightforward.

Women often have different financial biographies.

Career decisions, part-time work, family responsibilities, relationships and longer life expectancy can all affect how much wealth we build and how financially independent we are later in life.

And for international women who are living abroad, there's another layer: you are making important financial decisions in a system you may not have grown up with.

Sparheldin combines both perspectives.

Financial planning in Germany – designed specifically for expat women.

Independent & fee-based

Advice should be about your financial life – not about selling you a product.

Sparheldin provides independent & fee-based financial advice. You pay us for our expertise, analysis and financial planning.

This allows us to start with a simple question:

What actually makes sense for you?

We look at your existing setup, your goals and your options before developing a strategy for your financial future.

Meet your financial advisor

Hi, I'm Saskia.

I'm the founder of Sparheldin and a financial advisor specialising in financial planning for women.

My mission is to make money a lifestyle topic for women – so that you can decide independently, at any time. After leaving my corporate career and becoming self-employed, I built exactly that kind of independent life for myself.

And that's what I want for other women, too, because I believe they should be able to make important financial decisions with clarity – without sales pressure and without having to become financial experts themselves.

I know first-hand what it means to build a life abroad. Having lived and worked in Cape Town and Portugal, I've navigated a new country's rules, paperwork and financial system myself.

Today, I help women build a financial strategy around their life: from investing and pension planning to building long-term wealth. So my goal is to give you the expertise and structure you need to make informed decisions for yourself.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need to speak German?

No. Your consultations with Sparheldin can be conducted in English. Some financial documents and contracts may naturally be in German, but we can take these into account as part of your financial planning.

Is Sparheldin independent?

Sparheldin provides independent & fee-based financial advice. You pay us directly for our expertise, analysis and financial planning.

Do you only work with women?

Yes. Sparheldin specialises in financial planning for women. Our English-language service is designed specifically for female expats and international women living in Germany.

Can you help me with ETFs?

Yes. ETFs can be one component of a long-term investment strategy. We don't start by choosing a product, though. We first look at your goals, financial situation, time horizon, risk profile and existing assets.

Can you help me with retirement planning in Germany?

Yes. Retirement planning is one of Sparheldin's core advisory areas. We analyse your current retirement situation and develop an individual strategy for your future.

What if I might leave Germany again?

Your future plans are an important part of financial planning. If you may move abroad in the future, this should be considered when evaluating long-term financial decisions. Cross-border legal or tax questions may require additional advice from appropriately qualified professionals.

How much does financial planning cost?

Sparheldin works on a transparent fee basis. The exact fee depends on your individual situation and the scope of advice required. After the initial consultation, you'll know which service fits your situation and what it costs before deciding whether you'd like to work with us.
